I’m not sure if they consider themselves rivals or not.
But, they should…coz they are the market leaders when it comes to website builders and landing page tools

Well, the answer is both.

But I don’t want to be biased in this review, so I’m simply going to show you the pros and cons of each solution. After reading this review, you should be able to choose the one that will work for you.

In September of 2014 when Russell Brunson (author of “Dotcom Secrets”) launched Clickfunnels, a lot of people thought they had seen all there’s to landing page and web page builders.

LeadPages

At just few clicks away are the all powerful and attractive LeadPages. Frankly, collecting email leads used to be boring, but LeadPages changed everything.

LeadPages has been in the trenches way before Clickfunnels. LeadPages is a landing page builder that enables you to collect collect email subscribers easily. This is actually the primary function of LeadPages.

The edge of LeadPages is that you can choose from many professional landing pages templates that you will use for you campaign.

Lead Pages is the answer to your solution if you are looking to build email list in a fast phase using high converting templates for lead magnets, landing-pages, webinars of your product/services, sales pages and etc.

When it comes to pagespeed, both Clickfunnels and LeadPages are awesome. Both are intuitive, fun to use and you’ve got a plethora of cool templates to choose from.

Both platforms aren’t relenting on adding new templates and features to help marketers achieve their goals.

One advantage that LeadPages has over Clickfunnels is the Marketplace, where you can buy high-converting templates, or upload and sell your own templates to hungry buyers. What a great way to earn extra income?

Both Founder of LeadPages and ClickFunnels are experienced and very creative online marketers. So you have the gist of idea of the development process of those piece of software that went into

Of course, with either Clickfunnels or LeadPages, you can achieve your goals of collecting email subscribers and building your email marketing strategy. Although the degree will vary.

It should.

Yes, there are overlaps between the two solutions, but the differences are obvious. You’ll soon find out.

It’s time. Let the Cage Match begin…

Are Both Solutions Landing Page Builders?

A lot of marketers wanted to know if Clickfunnels is a landing page, squeeze page, sales page, or a page builder?

Yes, Clickfunnels allows you to build all of these in simple steps. In the same vein, LeadPages makes it fun.

Because, the templates are already there for specific events. For example, if you want to build a page for your upcoming webinar, LeadPages already has the right template for you. All you’ve to do is click, edit, save, and publish.

Apart from Clickfunnels and LeadPages, other solutions make it easy to build your landing pages quickly. For example, OptimizePress 2.0 Plugin allows you to drag and drop as you design your page.

But LeadPages isn’t based on the drag and drop feature, but you can modify the default text, images, call-to-action on their templates with your own.

Don’t be deceived, all landing page builders aren’t ideal for your business. I need to point out that though OptimizePress is a drag and drop builder, the built pages are slow – and you know how dangerous a slow loading page is for users.

The Difference in Pricing Between Clickfunnels And LeadPages

Both LeadPages and Clickfunnels aren’t cheap. Not everyone can afford them. I talked about Actionetics but didn’t mention Backpack; another powerful feature that Clickfunnels offer.

Yes, you can start off with the 14-day Free Trial, but if you want to enjoy the advanced features, you’ll need to upgrade to the etison Suite which costs $297 per month.

The basic plan which starts at $97 allows you to use only 3 custom domains, create 20 funnels, and there’s no priority support.

You can only enjoy unlimited access to Clickfunnels if you upgrade to pro (at $297/month).

LeadPages’ standard plan starts at $25/month and you’re required to pay annually. This brings it to total of $300. If you prefer to pay monthly, then the price goes up to $37. You’ll no longer save 38% in annual billing.

But even at this, you can’t split test your campaigns, neither will you use the Leaddigits and Leadlinks features.

If you had plans to integrate with Hubspot, Marketo, and Salesforce/Pardot and more, you can’t do that with the Standard Plan. That’s sad.

Even the Pro Plan which costs $49 per month to be paid annually, you’re still limited on certain features.

In the same vein, you can opt to pay monthly at $79. Again, you’ll no longer save 38% in annual billing.

The Advanced Plan, which is suitable for marketing teams and agencies is pegged at $199 per month. And don’t forget you’re expected to pay for 12 months. That brings it to a total of $2388.

Unfortunately, there’s no monthly billing for Advanced Plan. You either take it or leave it. I think this is rather unfair. Clay Collins should look into this.

By every margin, Clickfunnels is more affordable, considering all the awesome features of funnel templates, email marketing, hosting, mobile text message and direct mail marketing.

Pros of Clickfunnels

Why am I so excited about Clickfunnels?

Well, who wouldn’t.

The focus of Clickfunnel is to increase your conversions.

As at the time of writing this review, Clickfunnels has a broad list of funnel templates that you can choose from. Here they are:

  •     Optin funnel
  •     Webinar funnel
  •     Automated webinar funnel
  •     Sales video funnel
  •     Two step funnel
  •     Invisible funnel
  •     Launch funnel
  •     Membership funnel
  •     Podcast pages
  •     404 error pages
  •     Prelaunch pages
  •     Micro continuity funnel
  •     Youtube pages
  •     Affiliate center pages
  •     Presell pages
  •     Sold out pages
  •     Double opt in pages
  •     Squeeze pages
  •     Tripwire funnel
  •     Blackbox funnel
  •     Thank you pages

That’s huge. The potentials of Clickfunnels are obvious. Isn’t it?

Yes, other advanced Content Management Systems allows you to follow up your subscribers, but services like Infusionsoft don’t have a page builder and helpful addons like membership sites and webinar templates.

If you want to make extra money, Clickfunnels affiliate program is ideal. Yes, LeadPages also offers affiliate programs to its paying users. But you don’t have to be a paying customers to sign up and promote Clickfunnels.

Another core reason you’ll like Clickfunnels is the fact that it’s all-in-one solution. For example, you no longer need to use Aweber, ConvertKit or any autoresponder service provider.

No need for third-party billing system, webinar solutions (e.g., WebinarJam, GotoMeeting), split testing solutions (e.g., VWO) or page builder (like Instapage).

These and many more essential solutions are all included in Clickfunnels.

That’s a wonderful way to save money.

The Cons of Clickfunnels

Yes, there are things I hate about Clickfunnels which I you must know. But it’s not just me, a lot of people have complained about it, too.

First is the price point. Not everyone can afford $97 per month investment, especially when your business is just starting out. Although, with the great features, is it really expensive?

Another stopper for me is the inability of Clickfunnels to integrate with WordPress. Here, LeadPages has the upper hand, and it’s one of the reasons why bloggers and WordPress users still prefer LeadPages.

Yes, you can embed Clickfunnels’ templates or funnels on your website using an iFrame, but not everyone can do it. In fact, it’s boring.

Pros And Cons LeadPages

LeadPages is popular and as I said earlier, the ability to integrate with WordPress makes it the go-to landing page builder and email capture solution for bloggers, digital marketers and WordPress users.

LeadPages templates are fast, high-converting, and mobile responsive.

Building email lists through LeadPages’ LeadBoxes and LeadDigits is fun. Though you’ll have to upgrade to the Advanced Tier to access LeadDigits.

The only thing that I wish LeadPages has is funnel templates. Unfortunately, they don’t.

The landing page templates are also not drag and drop – which means that you’re confined to the template. There’s no room to create a page that you really want.
Conclusion

Being a user of both Clickfunnels and LeadPages, it’s not been easy pointing out the pros and cons that each of them posses.

But I’m confident that you’ll no longer be in the dark, when looking to invest into landing page builders and funnel solutions.

Right now, Clickfunnels works for me. The truth is, it may not work for you. Because your business goals are different from mine.

But whether you choose Clickfunnels or LeadPages, dare to explore the features that each platform offers. You’ll be amazed.
