Celebrate 2012 in Polka Dots! LC Lauren Conrad Polka-Dot Embellished Shirtdress

Happy New Year! Wearing the LC Lauren Conrad Polka-Dot Embellished Shirtdress ($68, 50% off in store plus coupons) and Gap Studded bow ballet flats ($49.95,60% off with coupon) I received for Christmas. The top half and waist of the dress are quite small, worn in size 6. The flats are leather with a rubber sole and amazingly cushy padding, like walking in slippers. The store didn't have my usual size so I went .5 size up, no problem.

I took a size 8 in the shorts. I could have gone with a 6 and maybe that would look more flattering, but I thought it would be better to go less tight in fake leather shorts. Get them on sale now, available in every size (sale $25 original $50).

Banana Republic Mad Men Betty dress Review

I really wanted to like this dress($150). The fabric is heavy and a crinoline or petticoat is sewn into the skirt. Unfortunately it does run HUGE. I usually wear a 4. I tried on the 2 Petite and I was swimming in it. I did ask the sales associate to try the size 0P but she accidentally brought me the same size and I didn't want to ask a second time. The color seems like it doesn't suit for a party dress but with some costume jewelry I think it would be really fun for cocktails. If you are a true size 0 this won't work without alterations, but it would be great for a large bust.

Last Friday Night in Lace Shorts

I finally wore my H&M mesh panel bodysuit (the more daring American Apparel version here) and BCBG lace shorts. The waistband on the shorts gaps a bit because I'm wearing the size medium and should have gotten the small. Still loving my Sam Edelman Exie sandals. If I never bought shoes that make me look stumpy I wouldn't have any shoes.

Sam Edelman Exie Studs and Spikes in Las Vegas!

I got the amazing Sam Edelman Exie sandals for my birthday this year. They were huge in my regular size 7.5 so I went down a full size to 6.5. The ankle strap is very short. I did get a blister the first time I wore them walking around the Strip but I'm hoping I won't have a problem in the future. No problems with securing the spikes at the moment.
